Week 9 Review
Hello League-Mates, and welcome to the Week 9 Review!
It was an interesting week for sure. Kaleigh pulled off a major upset and took down Johnny. I really wish I hadn't used the Buster Douglas analogy!
I had promised a Week 9 Power Rankings, and I won't disappoint.
10: Kaleigh, "Booze Bags": Kaleigh pulled off an incredible upset last week. I think it's too late in the season to really make a major push for the play-offs, but she can definitely pull off becoming a spoiler.
9: Caleb, "NIGHT OWLS": Caleb has seen some serious struggles this year, despite huge output from CeeDee Lamb. He too, can play the role of spoiler.
8: John Sr, "Password is Tacos": John's team isn't bad, but it isn't great. His bench has (3) QBs, which is always a bad way to clog up your roster.
7: Ian, "Dog Orgy": Ian has hit a 2-game losing streak, and at this point in the season, losing streaks are not a good thing to go through. Maybe all the dogs in his orgy are no longer horny.
6: Dad/Larry, "Didy P": It's been rough for Didy P, he has a good team but he has had some seriously bad luck. It seems to be a mixture of bad line-up construction and karma for drafting some of my draft day targets.
5: Jenna, "Sneaky Snail": I really think that some activity on the waiver wire would have benefited Jenna. She never really does much in waiver moves or trades, and I believe that it has hindered her in the past and can continue to do the same.
4: Carl, "Space Coyotes": AJ Brown, Ja'Marr Chase, and the combination of Joe Burrow and Tua have really carried me. Hopefully the return of David Montgomery signifies that my running backs can help carry me (see what I did there).
3: Kory, "Run and Tug": What a great performance by CJ Stroud! Also a great waiver wire move by Kory as well. I have kept Kory in the middle of the pack in the recent rankings, and I believe he deserves this top-3 ranking.
2: Patrick, "Crack Smokin' Monkeys": Patrick's team hasn't really put out much points over the last 3 weeks, but he has found ways to win. I don't foresee him leaving the top-3 for the rest of the year, unless there is a monumental collapse.
1: Johnny, "Conntenders": Johnny received his second loss of the year, but that doesn't ruin his power ranking position. Keep on rolling Johnny!
I would like to continue on to say a few more things. Right now, there are a lot of teams who can make the play-offs. I can't recall a season that we have so many teams in the play-off hunt this late in the year. It's truly exciting and I am glad to be a part of it, and see it unfold.
Lastly, I would like to quote a song by Bonnie Tyler:
"Where have all the good men goneAnd where are all the Gods?Where's the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds?Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?Late at night, I toss and I turnAnd I dream of what I need
I need a heroI'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the nightHe's gotta be strongAnd he's gotta be fastAnd he's gotta be fresh from the fight"
Why I am quoting Bonnie Tyler? It's because I need a running back, like I think most of us do. The waiver wire is bare like Death Valley. So if there is anyone out there that is willing to listen to trade offers, please talk with me! Because more than ever I need a hero, a white knight upon a fiery steed, because the best running back I have kind of looks like this:
